B01 studies the interplay between charge transfer and excitonic phenomena using optical spectroscopies of electrically-gated mol2Dmat heterostructures. The project employs 2D material excitons as sensitive probes to quantify charge transfer and electric fields, analyzing their dependence on external electric fields and molecular structure. B01 studies charge-transfer excitons in mol2Dmat heterostructures and controls their energy from the visible range down to zero by external electric fields, finally accessing the excitonic insulator phase.
