Project Details
Charge-transfer excitons and transient electronic structure at mol2Dmat interfaces (B04)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 555467911
B04 studies excitons in mol2Dmat heterostructures to detect their condensation into the exciton insulator state using time and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The project focuses on two mol2Dmat systems: molecules on TiSe2 or Ta2NiSe5 and a molecule/WS2 heterostructure. The system’s dynamics will be used to disentangle the excitonic insulator from other phases and to understand the effect of carrier screening on the stability of the excitonic insulator. B04 will determine the energy level alignment of molecule/WS2 and detect the formation of charge-transfer excitons.
