B06 addresses the interaction of excitonic insulators with molecular donors and acceptors, ranging from individual adsorbates to regular and disordered molecular arrays. B06 starts from the excitonic insulator ground states in a 2D material as claimed in certain transition metal dichalcogenides. Molecules act as local potentials, sources of scattering, or tunneling contacts. The project will propose signatures for the experimental verification of excitonic insulators and examine the stability of excitonic insulators against adsorbates.
