One-dimensional molecular chains through nanotubes (C05)

C05 focuses on 1D molecular lattices to unlock novel phenomena, such as the emergence of collective states. Carbon nanotubes will be used as cylindrical templates to order and align molecules in 1D chains resulting in giant J-aggregates. The collective states will be observed by luminescence, absorption, and Raman scattering on filled nanotubes in solution. C05 also explores molecular switches, donor/acceptor molecules, and ionic liquids within nanotubes. C05 collaborates with A01, A04, C01, C04, and C06.
