Research thrives on its data. Considering their high practical importance, researchers are rarely familiar with the legal framework relevant to the general handling of research data. The Research Data (RD)-Legal Support Pilot will close this gap by providing science-oriented legal expertise. Equipped with a jurist, the RD-Legal Support Pilot would be an important contact with respect to legal issues surrounding the topic of research data in a university context. Researchers from the Universities of Aachen, Bonn, Bielefeld, Düsseldorf, Köln and Wuppertal would be able to make use of the offered legal support. The submitted use cases will be processed by the RD-Legal Support Pilot and the outcomes will be discussed with the researchers thoroughly.
