Project Details
Coherent spin-current coupling in proximitized germanium (C05*)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 314695032
The project investigates semiconducting-superconducting quantum circuits that combine gate-defined proximitized quantum dots in germanium-based heterostructures and gate-controlled Josephson junctions with superconducting electrodes and phase-controlled loops such that strong spin-orbit interaction results in the coherent interaction between spinful Andreev bound states and supercurrents. Conversion of quantum information from semiconducting quantum dots to Andreev spin qubits and from Andreev spins to supercurrents, will allow the demonstration of longer distance spin-spin coupling mediated by superconductivity.
