This project investigates how rock heterogeneity influences mass transport at the gas–liquid interface, how this leads to salt precipitation, and how these processes affect multiphase flow in porous media. Using a newly developed high-pressure, high-temperature cell, these phenomena are studied at bubbles and droplets in various gas–liquid–solid systems under controlled conditions. Microfluidic experiments additionally analyze the impact on multiphase flow. Collaboration with modeling projects supports the mechanistic understanding and the development of models at the Darcy scale.
