Project Details
Pretreatment and stabilisation of lignocellulosic biomasses as substrates for fungal composites (A05)
Subject Area
Microbial Ecology and Applied Microbiology
Mechanical Process Engineering
Mechanical Process Engineering
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 548244816
Regional agricultural and forestry biomass as value- and structure-giving substrates for the targeted production of fungal composites will be investigated. Various cultivation, postharvest processing and storage approaches will be examined to develop innovative pretreatment methods. The aim is to understand and improve the mechanical properties of the composite materials through substrate properties. This will create the scientific foundation for a reproducible supply chain for substrates and thus process chain.
