This project aims to elucidate the structural and molecular basis of kinase-mediated mechanosensing by using a combination of high-pressure nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, spring polymer engineering, and biochemical assays to study mechanosensory kinases of the titin family. The findings will reveal how mechanical force modulates kinase activity and will thus enhance the understanding of chemical and biological responses in mechanosensing.
