Project Details
Trigger-induced reorganisation of the stress granule proteome (B05)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 550938463
Stress granules (SGs) act as crucial rescue mechanisms for cell survival and posttranslational modifications play an important in the regulation of SG formation and organisation. In this project we will comprehensively study proteome organisation and protein interactions within SGs and how these are modulated by multiple stress-triggers such as heat or arsenate. By combining state-of-the-art MS-based proteomics with biochemistry and chemical-biology tools we will draft a comprehensive map of their modification status and specifically investigate how phosphorylation may target the sHSP machinery to SGs.
