The project will substantially contribute to the coordination and realization of the tasks of BETA-FOR. In specific the tasks of the project are divided into six main coordination objectives: (WP1) the organization of coordinated biodiversity sampling campaigns for mammals, birds, bats, total insects, beetles, spiders, true bugs and moths across locations; (WP2) the measurement of general functions which are needed by SPs and highly important for syntheses, but cannot be covered by the subprojects; (WP3) the set-up of a deadwood experiment on all plots for volatile, insect and fungal/bacterial measurements and the survey of soil microbes; (WP4) repeated measurement of the trees on all patches including stem core samples for tree growth analyses; (WP5) one drone flight for all 234 patches covering the whole district the patches are embedded; and (WP6) the organization of data management and AI-based species identification services.
