A flexible data storage system is to be provided for the NFDI consortia NFDI4Chem, NFDI4Biodiversity, and NFDI4Microbiota for working with and storing research data. The working data will be written, read, and modified many times during the research process lasting several months or years. Backup copies of working data that are primarily processed in systems at remote sites will be staged into the online storage and moved to a tape library later.
