In view of the challenges related to XML workflows in university publication services and university presses, the lack of know-how, and precarious personnel resources, the Open Source Academic Publishing Suite (OS-APS) represents an infrastructure solution that has already proven its worth in productive use by various actors. However, the OS-APS community network is loosely connected, and the documentation of workflows and the handling of OS-APS still leave room for improvement. The proposed project therefore aims to pool, expand, and sustainably document the existing knowledge of users. The existing potential of the software is to be further developed and unlocked so that OS-APS can, in the medium term, establish itself as a publishing tool for institutional providers and be used independently by interested institutions without requiring extensive consulting.
