This project aims to apply the methods of Quantitative Wood Anatomy (QWA) for the first time to Kauri trees to then facilitate a comprehensive examination of the species` climate response. This pilot study aims to deliver the know-how urgently needed for long-term climate reconstructions based on QWA of Kauri.
