The temporary extended application option for equipment renewal should be used to renew and expand an existing two-dimensional preparative GC-GC-MS with sniffing ports and fraction collectors with regard to an autosampling system with extended options. The comprehensive upgrade will significantly expand the range of sampling techniques, enabling fully automated and therefore more reproducible analysis of different sample matrices. Replacing the cooling system with the CCD (Cryostatic Cooling Device) results in longer device runtime, shorter waiting times between measurements, and savings in liquid nitrogen, ensuring significantly more sustainable operation of the device. On the other hand, the expanded options TDU2 (Thermal Desorption Unit), DHS (Dynamic Headspace), CCD (Cryostatic Cooling Device), SPE2 (Solid Phase Extraction), and SFS3 (Solvent Filling Station) will offer a solution to several analytical challenges in the working group's diverse research and ensure its national and international competitiveness for the coming years, even under financially demanding conditions at FAU.
