STED imaging platform for fixed and living samples

The aim of this proposal is to replace the Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) microscope at the University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) Microscopy Imaging Facility (UMIF). After 10 years of successful operation, UMIF's current STED microscope has reached the end of its service life, meaning that UMIF is essentially no longer able to offer state-of-the-art STED microscopy. After careful evaluation of different options, we concluded that the purchase of a completely new STED microscope as replacement for the current one would be economically and technically the best option.
