We aim at the selective aerobic oxidation of organic molecules using multi-confinement of metal ions in MOF-COF hybrid frameworks (MOCOFs). We will confine various metal ions (M1, M2) in MOCOF-1-(OH)2 to create laccase-mimic active sites: M1 mediates one-electron redox, M2 forms a trinuclear center for O2 reduction, and the covalent M1-M2 pathway ensures fast electron transfer. These catalysts with different metals and geometries will be tested for aerobic oxidative dimerization of alkenyl phenols under confinement, as well as C(sp3)-H oxidation using the M1 site as a confined HAT mediator.
