The buried-stressor approach for site-controlled quantization centers will be advanced in four work packages: (1) Site-controlled ensembles of Stranski-Krastanow quantum dots (QDs): self-aligned epitaxy of active waveguide-structures. (2) Site-control of submonolayer depositions: an approach for achieving waveguides with high optical gain. (3) Long-wavelength, single site-controlled InGaAs QDs: site-controlled single QDs emitting at telecom wavelengths. (4) Epitaxy for energy-efficient VCSELs, microlasers, and single-photon devices: novel photonic devices fabricated by implementing approaches developed in the collaborative research centre.
