Project Details
Deformation and fatigue under multiaxial load (B04)
Subject Area
Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Term
from 2008 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54473466
Aims of project B4 are the characterization of structure-property correlations, the extension of concepts on structure assessment and residual fatigue lifetime and the validation of simulation models of project C5. The biaxial material behavior regarding deformation, phase transformation, damage and crack growth of powder metallurgical TRIP steels and TRIP-matrix composites as well as welded structures will be studied. Investigations on cyclic crack growth, fatigue, cyclic creep and quasi-static deformation using a biaxial-planar testing system as well as quasi-hydrostatic high-pressure tests are planned.
