The aim of C2 subproject is to continue the development of a database of ZrO2-based ceramic material and to merge it with database for steel. The joint database will be used to model interface reactions between steel and ceramic component in the TRIP-matrix composites. Key experiments will be performed after detailed analysis of available data and preliminary calculations. Phase relations will be studied using long time heat treatments in air and Ar. Thermal analysis and calorimetry will be used to investigate phase transformations and thermodynamic properties of phases. Assessment of thermodynamic parameters will be performed using CALPHAD approach.
