Final Report Abstract

Es ging in diesem Projekt um die Detektion weiterer sub-stellarer Begleiter bei jungen Sternen und deren weitere Untersuchung durch Infrarot-Spektroskopie. Im ersten Projektteil (direct imaging) wurden viele weitere junge nahe Sterne mit VLT/Naco beobachtet und u.a. bei PZ Tel ein Brauner Zwerg als Begleiter gefunden. Dies ist auch der erste sub-stellare Begleiter, bei dem Krümmung im Orbit um seinen Mutterstern detektiert wurde. Mit Infrarot-Spektroskopie wurde eine Masse um 21 Jupiter-Massen bestimmt. Im zweiten Projektteil wurden mehrere weitere junge sub-stellare Begleiter mit VLT/Sinfoni spektroskopiert, u.a. CT Cha b, TWA-5 B und PZ Tel B. Auch wurden weitere sub-stellare Begleiter junger Sterne nachbeobachtet, um deren Orbits zu messen, u.a. HD 130948 und HR 7329.
