Project Details
Spin centers in molecular solids - from paramagnetic salts to organic conductors (C05)
Subject Area
Solid State and Surface Chemistry, Material Synthesis
Term
from 2009 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 60803019
To overcome the widely observed pair formation within the segregated stacks in our TTF based charge transfer (CT) salts, high pressure experiments with diamond anvil cells and the use of stronger interacting donors like BEDT-TTF and the selenium derivative TMTSeF are envisaged. A series of unexplored and even not yet synthesized electron rich molecules with low oxidation potentials will be probed as donors in new CT complexes. We will start to explore the properties of alkali doped solvent-free polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons since remarkable physical properties like superconductivity have recently been claimed among this class of compounds.
