As part of the Georg-August-University School of Sciences (GAUSS), the key task of the Integrated Research Training Group (CRC-IRTG) is to offer a comprehensive doctoral program in the area of fundamental energy science on the Göttingen Campus. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the CRC, the specific IRTG training program comprises a variety of tailored qualification measures in research-related basic energy science, complemented by training events that impart key competences and leadership skills. Involvement of the PhD students in shaping the program and organizing events is an important and beneficial element of the IRTG concept.
