In this subproject, a model scheme is developed in which the near-wall regions are treated within a zonal LES computational procedure using a RANS-based vortex-resolving model. This wall-modeled LES model is particularly well suited for CFD simulations of complex near-wall flows. The vortex-resolving characteristic of the model enables to capture the fluctuations of all flow variables emanating from the wall to correctly describe the conjugate momentum, heat, and mass transfer processes.
