Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term since 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387073854

Color centers in diamond belong to leading platform in solid state quantum technologies including quantum communication, computing and quantum sensing. Translation of proof-of-concept laboratory demonstrations to technological applications of diamond spin qubits rely on ability to growth diamond with high degree of chemical purity and isotopic composition. Furthermore, it is essential to create color centers with high degree of control over their position and charge state. This project aims to realize chemical diamond growth allowing to control the doping of diamond with atomic scale precision. We will also explore chemical vapor deposition for generation of color centers and optimize diamond material for high efficiency photoelectric readout of spins.
