Effective models, simulation, and analysis of the dynamics in quantum-dot devices (B05)

Subject Area Mathematics
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 43659573

The project aims at theoretical investigation of the nonlinear behavior of complex edge-emitting semiconductor laser structures by means of effective modeling, simulation, and numerical bifurcation analysis. The research will be focused on semiconductor laser devices such as multi-section quantum dot mode-locked lasers, coupled arrays of mode-locked lasers, frequency swept laser sources, self-mode-locked quantum dot and quantum dash single section lasers. Along with the analysis of these devices, theoretical investigation of localized structures of light in active and passive laser systems and the effect of delayed feedback on their dynamics and stability properties will be performed.
