Functional peptide- and protein conjugates for multivalent targeting in vitro and in vivo (B05)

Subject Area Biological and Biomimetic Chemistry
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 32049920

New peptide and protein-conjugates will be in the focus of the project B5 to target multivalent receptors in vitro and in vivo. Large protein structures, for instance viral capsids and flagella-filaments, will be employed in the design of multivalent scaffolds for the interaction with viral glycoproteins. Additionally, new multivalent ligands including PEGylated or structurally stabilized peptides as well as oligosaccharides will be conjugated to protein scaffolds and polymers using chemoselective reactions, which also includes an affinity-driven dynamic ligation. These functional conjugates will be used to address biologically and pharmacologically relevant C-type lectin receptors and membrane-bound scavenger receptors and will be furthermore applied to medicinally relevant virus-host cell-interactions in highly pathogenic viruses.
