Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

Under stressful microenvironmental conditions, some but not all solid tumor cell lines require endothelialderived growth and survival signals. Targeting these signals may lead to alternate strategies for eliminating residual tumor present after optimal therapy. Besides this, a close collaboration with the Department of Urology of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center was established, where we worked on a multi-center study regarding bladder cancer. Altogether the research year was very productive and a great experience and exposure to high quality research.
