Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 130928593
The goals of the project are(i) Optimization of an adaptive control of a texture goniometer for the measurement of diffraction pole figures in dependence of the orientation density function (ODF) and(ii) Development of a texture goniometer with integrated ODF-dependent control to a pilot operation. For that purpose an algorithm will be developed to create an optimized measurement grid for each refinement step and to drive the goniometer to these grid positions while adjusting the parameters of the diffraction experiment. In the process intermediate approximations of the ODF will be used to determine the measurement grid for the next locally refined measurement in accordance with criteria set by the user. Further it is planned to modify a present fully automated texture goniometer with an integrated ODF dependent control and to operate it as a prototype.
