The research project combines the investigation of low-temperature atomic layer deposition (ALD) processes and the effect of functional organic layers and devices. The focus relies on the fundamental study of the chemical and physical interaction between highly reactive ALD precursors and sensitive functional organic materials. As a result of these studies, strategies are developed to achieve the required compatibility of ALD and organic electronics without degradation effects of the organic layers. Thus, one can take full advantage of the potential of ALD for organic (opto-) electronic devices.
