This project is devoted to the investigations of dynamical conductivity of two-dimensional electron gases induced by metal adsorbates on semiconductor surfaces and in oxide-oxide interfaces. The experiments will be carried out in the terahertz frequency range (100 -1000 GHz) and with temperature and magnetic field as external parameters. In order to improve the sensitivity of the terahertz technique to the surface layers we intend to develop resonator-based methods for terahertz frequencies. Finally, an ultrahigh vacuum chamber for THz spectroscopy in transmission geometry will be constructed and adapted to the joint surface preparation UHV system in order to carry out in situ experiments.
