Perfusionsdarstellung abdomineller Organe zur Tumordetektion und -charakterisierung mittels dynamischerr Volumen-Computertomographie
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Description of the most important scientific achievements of the research projects: - CT accurately measures true flow. CT perfusion may be clinically applied. - Longer venous injection bolus in CT perfusion using maximum slope method reflects true flow within an acceptable error margin. - Intravenous contrast bolus length should remain unaltered in serial perfusion CTs to avoid misinterpretation. Patlak analysis should start after recirculation (approx. 30 s) and should not include measurements later than 78 s post intravenous contrast material injection. - Low-dose scanning technique has only marginal influence on CT perfusion measurements and can be used in order to reduce radiation dose in patients undergoing perfusion CT. - Iterative reconstruction leads to significant reduction in perfusion pixel noise while maintaining regional perfusion values, therefore potentially improving reproducibility and allowing for radiation dose reduction during data acquisition. Shallow breathing during dynamic volume CT scanning reduces the overall demand for motion correction and thus may be beneficial in perfusion imaging. - Combining perfusion and diagnostic CT in one examination allows for longitudinal assessment of HCC and liver parenchyma perfusion, while maintaining diagnostic image quality.
