Final Report Abstract

Over the course of this project (and the previous project) we have collected several hundred samples of shallow-water benthic foraminifera from the coastline of Kenia, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia and Angola. To date this represents the largest source of micropaleontological research material spanning a coastline of approximately 9000 km. With this project we have successfully established species distribution modeling (SDM) in foraminiferal research. We have published the first atlas of benthic foraminifera on foraminifera from Bazaruto (Mozambique). A complete Atlas of benthic foraminifera from southern African coastal areas will follow.
