Project Details
Simulation Based Planning of Recontouring Metal Cutting Processes (C01)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 119193472
In the second funding period, the sub-project C1 dealt with the link between the simulations system and the CAM-system, in order to allow an automation of the planning algorithm. Major part of the research were simulations and experiments about the formation mechanism of part distortion at thin-walled analog work-pieces. The objective of the third funding period is to establish an integrated simulation and design of the recontouring process for a functional improvement of the regenerated workpiece. This will be realized by a simulation-based modelling of the material deposit, as well as through the development of an intelligent interface between manufacturing and functional process steps.
