Project Details
Regulatory networks for the adaptation of Dinoroseobacter shibae to changes in oxygen, iron and light (B05)
Subject Area
Metabolism, Biochemistry and Genetics of Microorganisms
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 34509606
This projects aims at investigating the complex interplay of regulators for the physiological response of D. shibae to changing oxygen tension, light and iron. Therefore, the gene regulatory and metabolic crosstalk of D. shibae with the dinoflagellate P. minimum will be studied. Time resolved co-cultivation will be tested for D. shibae’s response to changes in oxygen tension, light and iron. The change from a friendly co-existence with the exchange of nutrients to a state of infection with killing the dinoflagellate is of special interest. Finally, obtained gene regulatory networks will be tested for their general relevance for the Roseobacter group.
