Rotating deep convection in tropical cyclones

This proposal seeks to better understand the dynamics of deep convection in the inner core regionand outer rainbands of tropical cyclones and their role in the intensification process. This aim willbe achieved by using a cloud-resolving idealized model and the hurricane version of the WeatherResearch and Forecasting model (HWRF), both initialized with data from model generatedvortices.
