Understanding the Relationship between Post-Adoptive IT Behaviours and Individual Performance.

Subject Area Statistics and Econometrics
Term from 2012 to 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 208243463

The information systems (IS) community developed many theories, approaches and models thatidentify conditions and determinants of successful IT use. However, each model in the ISliterature has evolved to address specific aspects and dimensions of IT success. This has led toconflicting results concerning the impact of IT use in an organizational context. While a richbody of knowledge has emerged with prominent models such as the Technology AcceptanceModel or the IS Success Model, the complexity of defining a suitable multi-dimensionalconstruct for IT use has largely been neglected. In this research project, we first develop a newmeasurement scale for IT use based on Adaptive Structuration Theory. Second we develop anew theory to measure the impact of IT use on individual performance and ultimately tomeasure the success of IT in an organization. In doing so, we provide a novel, synthesizedapproach for investigating IT use in an organizational context.
