Sub-project 1 of PROSA deals with the near-surface geomorphologic slope processes in areas of unconsolidated material, e.g. on the steep lateral moraines or scree slopes. Most important, the working group examines relief changes by slope lowering processes under consideration of a fast propagating change in the cryosphere. Using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), spatially and temporally highly resolved data on extensive and intense mass movements (debris flows, fluvial / slope wash erosion and full-depth avalanches) are generated in order to attain a better understanding of the processes, the sediment transport and the morphodynamics in the proglacial area. Under guidance of sub-project 5 and in cooperation with the other sub-projects during this final project phase, the TLS results will be transferred to the whole catchment by using ALS data and process and disposition models.
