Multiferroic 0-3, 2-2, and 1-3 composites (A08)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2012 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526

The project is based on the preparation of multiferroic interfaces of systematically controlled geometries between magnetic and ferroelectric oxides using soft-chemistry approaches and pulsed laser deposition. We aim at revealing the impact of ionic processes on magnetoelectric switching in large electric fields, e. g., at ferroelectric tunnel barriers or conducting interfaces, by novel methods of scanning force microscopy. Chemical approaches such as doping will be utilized to control ionic mobility. Material classes under investigation are composites of ferroelectric perovskite-type titanates and ferrite spinels.
