Project Details
Spatio-temporal control over cell and membrane functions with light-driven nanoagents (B09)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
from 2012 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 201269156
B09 develops photoresponsive reagents to control cellular and biophysical processes with the spatiotemporal resolution of light, for a better understanding of cell biology and mechanics. B09 will continue to develop photoswitchable cytoskeleton modulators for animal studies and for subcellular resolution, and will further explore photoresponsive membrane modulators with novel molecular switches. We also develop photoresponsive gel crosslinkers that together with many SFB1032 groups will be used as light-controlled tools to study cell migration; and we work towards subcellular relocalisation reagents to study signaling and protein-protein interactions.
