The object of this project is the development of a novel synthetic strategy for polyamide/SiO2- and polymaino acid/SiO2 nanocomposites by means of coupled reactions. These nanocomposites can be obtained of Si-containing twin monomers based on lactam or oxime moieties with amino acid derivatives according to the concept of „in situ“ twin polymerization. Synthesis of distinct twin monomers and of reactive intermediates derived from oximes, lactams, amino acids, and dipeptides are intended. The academic aim is to achieve a detailed understanding on the sub-processes of the polyamide/SiO2- and polyamino acid/SiO2 nanocomposite formation throughout the coupled reaction cascades. One conceptual aspect of the project is to achieve information to develop entropy-driven materials synthesis.
