Shaping a lymphoma survival niche within secondary lymphoid organs

Subject Area Hematology, Oncology
Immunology
Term from 2013 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 235834047

Shaping a lymphoma survival niche within secondary lymphoid organsCrosstalk between lymphoid tumor cells and their environment provides pivotal signals for the initiation and progression of lymphoma. We will characterize stromal elements in T- and B-cell zones that collaborate with lymphoma B-cells and study lymphoma-induced cellular and molecular remodeling in indolent or aggressive lymphoma mouse models. To track lymphoma B cell migration, we will apply time-resolved confocal microscopy and live-imaging using multiphoton microscopy. Antigen-triggered BCR signaling as a pathogenetic factor in malignant B-cell survival and immunopharmacological inhibition of lymphoma-stroma crosstalk will be assessed in a murine CLL-model.
