In the first subproject phase a model for inducing tool life enhancing subsurface properties via the grinding process was developed. In the next phase strategies will be investigated to ensure process robustness of the grinding for changing grinding tool qualities. Another research focus will be the impact of the reinforcement of the forming tools on the manufacturing as well as the subsurface properties in transition areas between differently manufactured tool regions.
