The noncanonical function of 5-lipoxygenase as transcriptional regulator of inflammatory and regenerative processes as well as the identification of the involved 5-LO isoforms will be addressed. The signalling mechanisms linked with the noncanonical 5-LO functions will be investigated using three representative genes (kynureninase, WNT rezeptor Frizzled 3 and the miRNA cluster miR-99b/let-7e/125a).
