Lipids synthesized via CYP-Epoxygenases in chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain states (A09)

In project A09 we measure plasma samples from patients with neuropathy using tandem mass spectrometry to identify potential lipid markers for occurrence and severity of neuropathy and to identify lipids that may be related to the onset and maintenance of neuropathy mechanistically.Moreover, we investigate whether nociceptive stimulation of thermo- and mechanoreceptors may cause release of lipids and whether these lipids can modulate the activity of surrounding sensory neurons.
