Combinatorial search for novel transformations catalyzed by transition metal complexes carrying fluoroalkylphosphines as ligands

Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Analytical Chemistry
Term from 2013 to 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 242404789

3D screening mode - a modification of the high throughput screening method developed by Robbins and Hartwig for discovery of new catalytic processes - shall be elaborated and then applied to the search for new reactions catalyzed by transition metal complexes containing fluoroalkyl-substituted phosphines. This class of ligands combines strong pi-acceptor properties with variable steric bulk, and, therefore, might be able to catalyze unusual processes with the potential for stereocontrol. Because only few applications of fluoroalkyl phosphines are known and these are mostly restricted to the modifications of well-known processes, use of the high throughput methods should be especially valuable to identify new transformations catalyzed by complexes of fluoroalkylphosphines.
