The aim of this research project is to analyze the morphologies in vibration welding of thermoplastic-based nanocomposites as a function of processing history and where appropriate, the specific control of the morphology to optimize the quality of the joints. In Addition to the characterization of the joints in regard to standards the force/deformation behavior under a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope will to be examined. The experimental studies will be supported and supplemented by the modeling and simulation of the local deformation behavior in the welding area.
