Project Details
Expectations of the future and personnel recruitment of German and US-enterprises, 1918-1975
Applicant
Professor Dr. Werner Plumpe
Subject Area
Economic and Social History
Term
from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 191290453
The project investigates constellations, in which different modes of personnel decision-making compete immediately against each other, and do so, unlike the military or the administration, not on the level of territorial governance, but on that of economic actors, allowing the market to decide on success or failure relatively quickly. Through a direct comparison of American and German enterprises, it aims to reconstruct the relationship between market-related expectations, company size and modes of personnel recruitment and promotion.
