“Extended security”: Changes in Statehood since 1970 (‘After the Boom’) (C01)

Subject Area Modern and Contemporary History
Term since 2014
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 227068724

The sub-project analyses the relation between dynamics of “extended security” and processes of changing statehood from a trans- and international perspective since the mid-1970s. The main focus in funding phase III is on connections and interactions between dynamics of security and the development of notions of sovereignty in the national and international context. The two work assignments will focus on the securitization of national sovereignty: first, in relation to the system of the United Nations and developments of international law and international criminal law, and second, in respect to European monetary and financial policy.
