Project Details
Electronic Phases of Oxide Heterostructures Tailored on the Nanoscale (G05)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 107745057
Functionality will be a dominating aspect of our research on oxide heterostructures: what is the impact of artificially incorporated inhomogeneities such as grain boundaries, charged defects or dislocations on the electronic reconstruction at a metallic interface, and how do surface defects act on the interface electronic state? We will focus on magneto-transport, electronic compressibility and on the modulation of interface confined superconductivity by geometrical constraints or external fields. We will investigate experimentally and theoretically the BKT transition to a superconducting interface state characterized by a non-trivial topological invariant.
